'Hitman' release date details revealed
IO and Square Enix's reboot of their acclaimed role-playing game "Hitman" was originally scheduled to launch late this year, sometime in December. However, developer IO Interactive decided to add to the original content at game launch and moved the release date for next year.
Now, completed details of the release of "Hitman" has been disclosed by the developer andt the publisher.
According to the announcement on the game's official website, the upcoming title will be launched on March 11 next year. As with what the developers had in mind when "Hitman" releases, the upcoming roll out date will give "Hitman" players access to initial launch content, with additional packages soon to follow.
The initial launch content will include three locations – Marrakesh, Paris, and Sapienza – and six campaign missions. The Contracts included in the initial release total almost 800, so players will have their hands full even with the incomplete content.
However, for hardcore fans of the franchise who want the complete new "Hitman" experience, IO Interactive will release one new location with new kill contracts per month following March, with the full package to be completed by June 2016. The post-launch content will also add new campaign missions to complete the story line.
DesignNTrend reported that in a press event in Denmark, IO Interactive head Hannes Seifert said he values fan feedback. Seifert said, "We've had a lot of feedback since we announced 'Hitman' that has helped us shape these next steps. It's important that we listen to fans and that we're open with what we're doing. So today we're sharing details on our release plan and we're announcing something the community has asked for: a new price to enter the game at launch."
Players who want to purchase the game will have two options. The standard full version of the game with post-launch content will cost $60, will the Intro Pack which only include the initial launch content will cost $35.
