The upcoming stealth action game "Hitman" will be released episodically, with the prologue and first mission releasing this coming March 11. However, a physical disc with all of the episodes and the rest of the Collector's Edition content is also in the works, but according to a report from VG 24/7, this will not release until the end of the year.

According to the report, developer IO Interactive has confirmed that a physical retail version of the game will be made available and it is set to release after all of the important episodes and extra content have been launched digitally. This physical version of the Collector's Edition will be sold for $60, which is the same price for the digital Collector's Edition.

Unfortunately, IO Interactive has not yet announced the exact release date for the digital version of the Collector's Edition, although it is widely speculated to launch sometime before the physical version is made available.

In a post from IGN, the contents of the Collector's Edition have been unveiled. This special edition will contain the game itself, a limited 10-inch Agent 47 "Chessmaster" statue, a red tie and clip inspired by the design of the game's main character Agent 47, and a hardcover art book by "Hitman" art director Jonathan Rowe.

Following the launch of the prologue and Paris missions, the game will then see the second episode launch in April, containing the Italy missions. The final episode, contain the Morocco missions, will launch in May. Starting June onwards the game will receive content updates that include missions in Thailand, the U.S. and finally in Japan.

Players who do not intend on purchasing the Collector's Edition when it comes out by the end of the year can purchase the initial Prologue and Paris missions for $15 and then purchase each subsequent mission content for $10. Players who purchase the prologue can also upgrade to get all the following content updates with a $50 upgrade pack.
