A player in the Spanish Olympic hockey team is set to enter a seminary in Belgium after the Games.

Carlos Ballve plays defence in the Spanish team competing in the London Olympics.

According to Spanish newspaper, El Pais, Ballve admitted that as late as 2005 he continued to "go to parties with girls, spend money left and right, and had little or no intention of praying".

He knew something was up so he turned his attention to God.

"I told him, 'I don't know what's wrong. Strange things are happening. I want to come clean with you, so here I am, do what you want."

Now he's set his sights on the seminary, but he had one ask of God before he begins the process to become a priest - to fulfil his dream of competing in the Olympics.

He said his experience of the Games had been "incredible".

He said he hoped "not only to win, but to grow in my living of the faith, sharing this with people from so many parts of the world".
