Holly Holm next fight rumors 2015: Holm to be ready despite long wait

If she had her way, Holly Holm would want to get the rematch with Ronda Rousey over and done with. But as fate would have it, she will have to wait a bit — eight months to be exact.

Even though an eight-month layoff would allow Holm and Rousey to prepare better, the fact is Holm could get a bit rusty. This is where that pitch to have a fight in between that period came in, something which would have at least kept her in shape.

But there are, of course, risks involved with such, including incurring injuries and also a chance that Holm could lose the title to another opponent. In this case, Miesha Tate is the name that cropped up as a possible opponent and everyone knows her credibility.

This is not to say that Tate is superior and could dethrone Holm. These days, matches are unpredictable and anything can happen. Apparently, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) wants a Holm vs. Rousey rematch, it seems they are determined to make sure that such scenario will take place.

Rousey did take quite a beating at the hands of Holm, and there are some who believe that eight months may not be enough to cover her track and make a proper comeback.

Such was aired no less by Holm's camp as well and was part of the reason why they were batting for a Tate vs. Holm match. All of that fell on deaf ears.

The best Holm can do right now is keep herself in shape until July for UFC 200, the planned event wherein the Holm vs. Rousey rematch will take place.

From the looks of it, the respite would benefit Rousey as she tries to recuperate from her injuries and recondition herself mentally. Regardless, Holm could care less.

"Eight months is a long time between fights, and I don't want to wait that long," Holm said via the ESPN. "But if that's what it is, I'll do it and I'll be ready."
