Holly Holm vs. Ronda Rousey 2 rematch news 2016: Holm speechless on Rousey's suicide admission

Holly Holm is one of the many folks who learned about that dark admission of Ronda Rousey on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and seemed befuddled by it.

With Rousey's strong character, admitting that she considered taking her life came a bit of a shock to everyone. The UFC 193 loss is something that many felt hit Rousey hard, but not to the extent of considering suicide.

For her part, Holm admitted at a recent media event that she did not know how to react to it and seemed a bit torn between being a competitor or someone who should show a bit of compassion, Sherdog reported. Holm said apology is a bit off, considering competition is all about giving your best.

Holm knows how it is to lose badly. She suffered one when she was still boxing. This happened in 2011 when she lost to Anne Sophie Mathis on Dec. 2, 2011.

It was her first loss since 2004, a rare occurrence similar to the one that Rousey recently got. On her end, she felt dejected as well, although it never reached the point that she would consider suicide an option.

Instead, it was the people around Holm who helped her overcome the loss and get back on track.

Holm and Rousey are two different individuals and they both have different personalities. They may handle such a situation in different ways, but there is a metaphor that Rousey may want to look into.

This is the one that says losses only make competitors stronger. With Rousey's character, that should be a no-brainer, although she needs to discover how.

The physical part of getting back on track is already there, and perhaps the months leading to the rematch (which has yet to be announced) could be ample enough to draw back the Rousey of old.

Holm never touched it but with that in mind, Rousey could return stronger and tougher which would account for a pretty exciting rematch promised no later than 2016.
