'Homeland' season 4 spoilers: Will Carrie and Quinn romance happen? Quinn protects Carrie from mob

After almost a year's wait, "Homeland" Season 4 is coming in around two weeks. What fans know is that Carrie will have her baby, and that she accepted the job to be a field operative in Pakistan-Afghanistan. And yes, Brody is really dead and won't come back this season.

According to spoilers for the past months, Carrie will be handling a drone strike program while she is in Pakistan. While she is doing her assignment, she will leave her daughter with her sister back home. Carrie will be trying to balance her life as a CIA agent and as a mother. The burning question is, is there still room for another romance in her life after Brody?

The short answer is no, but for the fans who are rooting for Quinn and Carrie, there's still something to delight on. Quinn will still be there to protect and support Carrie. In the behind-the-scenes video, it is seen that Quinn welcomes Carrie in Paris. Carrie's job is one that creates a lot of enemies, and this time, a "blood-thirsty" mob is after her, as seen in the Season 4 trailer.

But, what about the undeniable chemistry between Quinn and Carrie? Showrunner Alex Ganza told TV Line, "I think if there is romantic energy between them it's at a very nascent state ... Carrie's emotions have been engaged elsewhere, so it's unclear how she feels about him. I think it's pretty clear how he feels about her. But whether Carrie Mathison is going to be emotionally available for a romantic entanglement is another question entirely."

Also in the Season 4 preview, Saul is seen telling Carrie about a viral video, one where a drone attack happened on a wedding ceremony. TV Guide reported "Although we expect the ghost of Brody to haunt the new season at some point, his name isn't even mentioned in the first episode. Instead, Carrie is thrust right back into the center of the action by overseeing a drone-strike program in Afghanistan. Things get a bit dicey, however, when Carrie's latest target is taken out... during a family wedding (three words: international. PR. nightmare.). But perhaps the most telling thing about Carrie is how little any of what she's doing these days seems to faze her."

"Homeland" Season 4 will return on Oct. 5, 2014 with two episodes airing on the same night. It will pick up six months after the finale of Season 3. The first episode is titled "The Drone Queen."
