Following the failed assassination attempt on her life in season six finale, President Keane (Elizabeth Marvel) finally showed her true colors — a tyrannical president who has no regards for civil rights. In the first trailer for season seven, Carrie (Claire Danes) is now on a mission to stop the president, and quite surprisingly, even Saul as well (Mandy Patinkin).

Season six finale showed President Keane breaking her promise to Carrie by ordering the arrest of 200 members of the intelligence community, including Saul. However, the first trailer for season 7 shows Saul surprisingly worming his way out of prison, and instead, becoming President Keane's National Security Advisor.

The trailer also showed another person other than Carrie who wants to bring President Keane down. Brett O'Keefe (Jake Weber), first seen in season six, is shown aiming a rifle at the president's poster. "The founding fathers foresaw the dark day when we would face a president like her," he said. "Anyone who takes a stand for what they believe, people are gonna say they're crazy. They've been calling me that for years."

Things will definitely be a lot trickier for Carrie in the upcoming seventh season, as she will probably have to treat her old mentor Saul as an enemy because of his new role at the Oval office. In missions full of stealth and sacrifice, Carrie will go against all odds try to release the prisoners held by Keane, while simultaneously bringing down her whole administration.

Aside from Danes, Marvel, and Patinkin, other cast members set to join "Homeland" season seven include Linus Roache, Jake Weber, Maury Sterling, as well as series newcomer Morgan Spector (Boardwalk Empire), who will play the role of Dante Allen, an old friend of Carrie's who is in charge of looking into the members of the intelligence community currently held in prison by Keane.

Majority of season seven is shot in Virginia, as opposed to its usual setting in Charlotte, North Carolina. The television series is based on the Israeli series Prisoners of War, created by Gideon Raff.

"Homeland" season 7 returns on Sunday, Feb. 11, at 9 p.m. EST, on Showtime.
