Huawei's sub-brand is confirmed to be adding a new iteration this month, as it is revealed that the upcoming Honor 6X will be unveiled on Oct. 18.

Huawei has already sent out press invites confirming the launch event. According to PlayfulDroid, the company will be going head-to-head with another China-based tech maker. Aside from the Honor 6X, another iteration is also scheduled to debut early next week. Previously, Oppo has confirmed that it will be launching the R9S on Oct. 19.

Although it is already confirmed that the Honor 6X will become official this month, it remains to be seen when fans can expect the new iteration out in the market. In addition, Huawei has yet to announce its plans for a global launch should there be one. It is already expected, though, that the Honor 6X will also become available in other markets outside China. It can be recalled that its predecessor, the Honor 5X, is one of Huawei's breakthrough lineups when the Honor sub-brand breached the U.S. market earlier this year.

Meanwhile, though the Honor 6X is not expected until next week, its specs and features are already known from supposed leaks online.

In a TENAA listing, it is said that the upcoming iteration will get the same 5.5-inch display with full HD resolution as the Honor 5X. Under the hood, it is expected that the device will run on a Snapdragon 625 chipset paired with either 2 or 3 GB of RAM. There is also 32 GB of internal storage. Other purported specs include a fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port, and 3,340 mAh battery.

One of the expected improvements for the Honor 6X is the reported dual cam setup for its main shooter, as well as a full-metal body. However, it is unclear if Huawei will feature a Leica co-engineered setup for the Honor 6X, much like what it had done with the Honor 8 flagship.
