'Horizon Zero Dawn' relase date news: developers expected to make announcement at E3

Horizon Zero Dawn Guerilla Games

"Horizon Zero Dawn" made a big impact on players when it was teased back in 2015 but very little about the game has been shown since then. According to a report from Game Debate, however, it is likely that the developers will release a new trailer and even announce when the game is coming out during this year's E3 event in June.

According to the report, developer Guerilla Games is still keeping the 2016 release window and has not yet made any announcements for a delay. If the game is still launching before the end of the year then it is presumed that the developers will begin marketing the game more, starting with a presentation during E3.

Fans speculate that if the game is indeed going to hit its launch date without being pushed back to 2017 then it is likely to release by Q4 of the year, with a holiday release more likely than not.

Trusted Reviews has pointed out that the game is quite ambitious with what it wants to achieve. "Horizon Zero Dawn" is a far cry from what the developer is known for and is its first foray into making an action-roleplaying game.

It is also a game with a tremendous level of scale and the developers aim for it to be a seamless open world without load screens. It has been stated that the gameplay will be a cross between "Assassin's Creed" and "Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim."

"Horizon Zero Dawn" is set roughly 1,000 years in the future in a post-apocalyptic world where most of mankind has already left due to machines taking over the planet. The few tribes that remain need to scour the land for resources. In the game itself, players will take control of Aloy, a female hunter traveling the land for foor and other needs for her tribe.
