Netflix acted fast in the wake of the abuse allegations against Kevin Spacey. The streaming service released the decision just a week after abuse accusations were thrown at the actor, who plays President Frank Underwood in the political drama "House of Cards."

Netflix made it clear that they will not be working on the production of the "House of Cards" if it will still include Spacey. The company also announced that the film "Gore," which was starred by the 58-year-old actor and was already shot, will no longer see theaters.

Although Netflix had been straightforward with its announcement, Media Rights Capital (MRC) only said that Spacey, who plays the lead role and serves as the executive producer for the political drama series "House of Cards," was "suspended" during the ongoing inquiry on the actor.

How Spacey's absence will affect "House of Cards" remains to be seen as the sixth season is not set to air until next year. The series could focus on the foreboding rule of Claire Underwood, played by Robin Wright, possibly killing off President Underwood to get rid of the character.

Prior to this, the production for the "House of Cards" in Baltimore was stopped indefinitely last Oct. 31. MRC revealed that the halt was to make room for the assessment of the scandal the lead was in. "House of Cards" was also announced to have its sixth season as its final run. This was revealed amid the hot water the show was enveloped in, though sources denied any connection between the decision to end the series and the alarming accusations. Apparently, the show was set to end even before sexual harassment allegations against Spacey.

The horror hounding "House of Cards," especially Spacey, started when "Star Trek: Discovery" actor Anthony Rapp went public in accusing the Academy Award-winning actor of sexual assault when he was younger.
