'House of Cards' season 4 release date delayed? Plot rumors revealed

Frank and Claire Underwood in "House of Cards" Netflix

It's already been confirmed that "House of Cards" has been renewed for the fourth season and it's news that fans are happy about. Season 4 is expected to air in February 2016, but rumor has it that the show will be pushed back to a later date.

The past seasons of the political drama premiered every February, but according reports, there's a possibility that season 4 will be delayed to a March 2016 release.

This, of course, means a potentially longer wait for fans, but this report has not been confirmed and nothing about the show's release date has been formally announced. Who knows, maybe the show would even get an earlier release date.

In the meantime, speculations about "House of Cards" season 4 should be enough to fuel the excitement over the upcoming series.

In the previous season, it was seen that Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) walked out of Frank's (Kevin Spacey) life and rumors have it that the fourth season would see the two being rivals.

Claire is also said to move forward and pursue her quest for power. According to numerous predictions, she might also run for president — that or she'll be joining one of Frank's political rivals.

Bustle noted that Frank would lose in the coming presidential elections because he's described as a terrible leader. Frank getting reelected may be hazy for season 4, but it's up to the show creators how they would want the drama to progress.

There was also the talk of how Frank may have Claire killed. Although he had loved her, he may not be feeling the same way now that she's left his side and standing in his way.

It is predicted that things could get ugly between the two especially if Claire will do everything to destroy Frank and stop him from winning in the elections.

All these are mere speculations and since the new season is still a long way, fans can just stay hopeful some new reports about the show pop up.
