"House of Cards" season 4 will delve more into Frank and Claire's relationship while bringing in more action and manipulation, which seems to be the Kevin Spacey-led series' winning formula. The Netflix hit has bagged nominations and awards and has earned tons of fans including U.S. President Barack Obama and the First Lady, Michelle.

In an interview with Deadline, showrunner Beau Willimon revealed that he knew about the head of state being a supporter of the show through a tweet the president sent out as well as the testament of people from his administration, who told Willimon they watch it.

"It's incredibly flattering to think that the President of the United States, and the First Lady, would take any of their time out of an extremely busy schedule to watch anything we've made," he said. "It verges on the surreal. It's kind of hard to process. I'm thrilled that they remain interested in what we do, and hope that they remain fans."

The cast and crew of the series recently received Emmy nominations and wins. And while the recognition makes the effort all the more worthwhile, Willimon said that it isn't what it's all about. Recognizing higher expectations on "House of Cards" season 4, he said that the plan is "to outdo the year before."

"The goal is to always improve, to dig deeper into our story, to expand our world, and to always reach for a higher bar... They're thrilling. It's always validating when your peers give you a pat on the back, and embrace the work you're doing, but one never presumes that they will. You feel like you have to earn it every year," he explained.

"House of Cards" season 4 is something to look forward to, with rumors going around that Frank and Claire will still be together, not out of love but all for good image. In the name of publicity, the power couple will reportedly reunite, adopt a child and project as if they are a happy family.

"House of Cards" season 4 will be ready for binge-watching by February next year.
