There are speculations that Claire, who left Frank in the middle of his preparation for his campaign, will set out to become his political rival. It is unclear, though, what her motivations will be in running against her husband in the elections.

Claire, as an enemy, will be a nightmare to Frank as she knows an awful lot about him and could use the knowledge to get the upper hand. If Claire does become someone Frank will worry about this season, fans will be in for some exciting things in "House of Cards" season 4.

Another speculation, which is a completely different one, is that the pair will eventually be back together to continue their charade as a great couple. Some rumors say that they might even adopt a child in "House of Cards" season 4 so as to create a portrait of a happy family in the eyes of the public.

Meanwhile, as for Campbell's firmly veiled character, rumors are at odds. Some say she will be an ally to Frank and may even end up in a relationship with him as Claire's absence continues to grow more and more intolerable for him.

There's also word that it won't be Claire that will be Frank's rival in "House of Cards" season 4 but Campbell's character, who will purportedly be the half of a new, younger power couple in town that will steal the spotlight from Frank and Claire.

"House of Cards" season 4 is said to premiere either in February or March 2016.
