The plot for the renewed season of the Netflix hit "House of Cards" is still shrouded with mystery but enthusiasts already have logical guesses on what it may possibly bring.

Speculations initially revealed that Doug Stamper (Michael Kelly) may soon be a goner. Now, rumors went wilder saying the coldblooded, shrewd U. S. president Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) will soon follow. In the original British series "House of Cards", Underwood's counterpart, Francis Urquhart was assassinated by a hired gun by his wife's orders. This may not at all be far-fetched as Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) exhibits the character that can execute the act.

"Law & Order" actress Jenna Stern and "Deadwood" icon Kim Dickens will also add to the ensemble in the third season—Dickens in a recurring role and Stern's character still unnamed. Also, a punk rock protest group from Russia named Pussy Riot will reportedly appear in the third season as well. It is also unclear what roles they will be playing. Whether the characters will be on the good or bad side, it is still unknown, but E! Online revealed that one character will be in the form of a very smart doctor in her 40s named Dr. Buzdar.

Since Underwood has gotten rid of his horde of foes in the U.S., Russia will now be the major setting for the series. It is said that the main man will meet another 'formidable' and 'refined' rival in the person of Anto Ivonovich in the new border.

The new season is likely to feature Rachel Posner (Rachel Brosnahan) as well. "I think Rachel should come back. I think there's a lot of loose ends. I also think it's interesting if Rachel came back because she's one of the bigger threats to Frank now. She's still the missing link, and people are discovering that she exists," Broshanan told Entertainment Weekly.

The third season of the "House of Cards" is rumored to be released in February next year iff the show follows the release pattern made for its first and second season.
