The excitement for the new season of Netflix's "House of Cards" continues to heighten as season 3 draws closer. With Frank Underwood taking on the role of the new U.S. president, the stakes are higher than ever. New enemies will emerge, unlikely enemies will turn, and more challenges await Frank. 

This February, Netflix will release "House of Cards " season 3. It consists of 13 episodes all-in-all. There have been so many questions surrounding the new season. What is Frank going to do now that he has achieved his goal? Is Doug dead? What's happening with Claire and Frank's marriage? 

The trailer for season 3 has been released and it shows snippets of what fans can expect from the new episodes.

In the background, Frank says, "You wanna know what takes real courage? It's holding it all together when the stakes are this high."

That alone shows that Frank will be dealing with a lot of problems this coming season. 

However, the trailer seems very ominous of the broken relationship between Frank and Claire. While the couple is considered to be an indomitable pair, that partnership appears to be crumbling down. There are several shots of Claire looking very distant from Frank. Most importantly, the last part of the trailer shows the two having an argument. 

"We're murderers, Francis," Claire says. 

Frank replies, "We're survivors." 

Earlier in the trailer, Claire is shown in the morgue looking at a dead body. Later, she is seen crying. Could these two scenes be linked together? Who died? Why is Claire affected? Is this the person Frank and Claire murdered? 

Moreover, there's been speculation that Frank may just get killed when season 3 ends. In the original version of the novel "House of Cards: The Final Cut," Francis is killed by an assassin. Frank pushes his wife away to save her and instead, sacrifices his own life. 

Another plausible scenario could be that Frank will be the one to kill Claire, or Claire will be killed off this season, just to contradict the original version. It will certainly make a huge twist for the new season. However, killing off one of the lead stars will definitely weaken the show. 

"House of Cards" is coming to Netflix on Feb. 27. Only a couple of weeks more and fans will witness the events in Frank's life unfold.
