The season 3 finale for political drama "House of Cards" was a cliffhanger, raising more questions for the upcoming season. Although fans are still wondering whether the Underwood couple will finally call it quits, one thing is for sure: season 4 will feature more emotionally charged scenes set amidst a drama of politics and power..

In an interview with E! News early this year, executive producer Beau Willimon said the storyline will be a combination of fan feedback and current events, starting with the upcoming presidential elections. Willimon said, "We're reading the same headlines you are. I'm sure those things will influence us in subliminal ways. But we're not trying to deliberately parallel what's going on in real life. And it would be a fool's errand to try because we're writing the season many, many months before it airs. So if we did that, it would feel really old."

Meanwhile, it seems that for the upcoming season, the Underwood couple will be together again, this time to fight a new power couple in town.

According to MNRDaily, aside from the new season seeing Frank Underwood duke it out with his former allies, particularly Remy (Mahershala Ali) and Jackie (Molly Parker), season 4 will also introduce another new power-hungry character, played by Neve Campbell. Her character will gain power as a fallout of the Underwood split, and Frank (Kevin Spacey) and Claire (Robin Wright) may need to get back together again, even adopting a child, to tip the balance in their favor again.

"House of Cards" season 4 will have its premiere on Netflix sometime in the early months of next year. Although there hasn't been any confirmations on the premiere date, some rumors peg the release of the new season as March 4, 2016.
