'House of Cards' season 5 premiere date, spoilers: Frank may have his eye on a young woman to woo and manipulate

Netflix

Back in January, "House of Cards" season 5 was officially green-lit by Netflix, and with the show potentially in its final season, rumors suggest that Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) could be killed by his own wife Claire (Robin Wright) and one possible reason is not just for political power but because Frank is rumored to have a new fling.

According to Parent Herald, a popular theory is that in the fifth season, Frank will once again find an intelligent young woman that he will manipulate in order to get what he wants, particularly as his political enemies continue to grow following the events of season 4.

Back in season 1, Frank had the young journalist Zoey Barnes (Kate Mara). He manipulated her for several months, taking advantage of her influence in the media to steer things in the direction he wanted. When she betrayed him and began discovering his darker secrets, he killed her, pushing her in front of a moving train.

It is possible that he will gain a new fling in season 5 and it might be someone new working at the White House. As reported by GQ Magazine, actor Mahershala Ali, who plays Remy Danton, won't be returning for season 5 as he intends to expand his career by moving on to other projects.

Remy has always been portrayed as someone who worked closely with Frank in the past and at times was both an obstacle and friend to the Underwoods. It is possible that a young lady would step in and fill in this void, whether she be an employee in the White House or another financer that finds herself working along with Frank.

It is noted that Netflix has yet to confirm or deny any of these rumors and they should be taken with caution as they are not officially true

"House of Cards" season 5 will premiere in 2017.
