"House of Cards" is already in production of its fifth season, reveals Movie News Guide. There is reportedly a plan to feature a tragic death in the middle of this season while Leann Harvey and Doug Stamper continue with their onscreen romance.

Other rumors suggest that Clair and Frank Underwood will be dealing with a different kind of conflict, with Claire turning into her husband's greatest enemy.

Yibada reports that the protagonist, Frank Underwood, was created with the late British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in mind. Beau Willimon, the show's reator, revealed these details and more in a private interview. The book series that it was made from was inspired by author Michael Dobbs's work as Thatcher's chief of staff. Willimon also talked about Underwood's much debated sexuality.

Meanwhile, according to Vine Report, Netflix recently announced that Willimon will no longer be working in season 5's development. Other reports suggest that when Frank takes the presidential seat, he will experience an unexpected demise -- leaving Claire, who is the current vice president, ready to take over the spot in the Oval Office. She will also exploit Stamper and Harvery's relationship for herself.

Christian Times reports that this upoming season might be the last one for "House of Cards." Instead of 2016, they are also planning to premiere the series in March 2017. There is still no confirmation regarding what the storyline could be, but rumors suggest that there might be a female lead for the next season.
