Houston Rockets rumors 2015: Harden, Howard just stopped listening to Kevin McHale

The Houston Rockets have had just three games since firing Kevin McHale so the jig is up on whether the unceremonious firing was indeed the right resolve for the team's faltering start.

McHale was fired with Rockets at 4–7 and as of this writing, the team has only won one game against the Portland Trail Blazers before dropping two consecutive games against the Memphis Grizzlies and the New York Knicks.

So, was McHale really the problem or is there any truth to McHale's insinuations that the team was really plagued with bigger troubles?

Considering he manned up and took the fall on behalf of the players, McHale may care less now; but the thing is the move has hardly made any immediate impact.

It is, of course, early to tell but if one takes the desire of management to see the team start winning games, the three games after the post-McHale era are far from impressive.

Could there be dissension in the ranks?

James Harden has been singled out time and again, although there could be more. Dwight Howard, playing hurt, could be among those who aired their issues during that players' only meeting held the day before McHale was fired. But until someone actually confirms that, such remains rubbish.

Why the two? Well, they are the obvious stars of the Rockets to date, with Harden obviously the big name player associated with the franchise. He could be distracted by the Khloe Kardashian angle, although no one is talking.

Right now, the Rockets have to string up some wins to restore order and somehow reclaim that billing as one of the top teams in the Western Conference. J.B. Bickerstaff has his work cut out for him but could follow McHale soon unless he finds a way to turn the team's fortunes around as soon as possible.
