Houston Rockets rumors 2015: Ty Lawson suspended, may be traded soon

Houston Rockets guard Ty Lawson is on the headlines again, and it has something to do with his off-court issues.

Apparently, Lawson had pleaded guilty to driving while impaired and with that, the National Basketball Association (NBA) has meted out a two-game suspension on the Rockets guard.

But it seems Lawson's woes don't end there.

With these developments, ESPN reports that the Rockets are now exploring Lawson's trade value which could mean that the troubled point guard may be shipped out soon.

Lawson has yet to be a consistent fit with the Rockets and the recent developments have only made the outlook bleaker for the guard who played his best ball with the Denver Nuggets.

Lawson was acquired back in the offseason and the Rockets gave up four players to land him. With the Rockets learning from their previous playoff debacle which saw them without a legitimate point guard, the team took a risk on Lawson despite the fact he has a lot of off court distractions.

Word of Lawson being traded came even before the recent reports, but the Rockets assured him that there was no truth to such. This time, however, the Rockets seem to be whistling a different tune.

Lawson is due to make $12.4 million this season but based on how he has performed, it seems that the Rockets may not even wait until the end of the season to dispose of the 28-year-old guard.

And seeing that the Rockets are far from the team that many had forecasted them to be, Lawson could be one of the assets the team intends to move.

Among the players who could be shipped out soon include Corey Brewer and Terence Jones who may be headed to the Phoenix Suns for Markieff Morris, someone who had sounded off his desire to be traded even before the 2015–16 NBA season started.
