The Houston Rockets are on a tough stop today as they head to the AT&T Center to take on the San Antonio Spurs, who have not lost in the venue for 19 games now this 2015–16 National Basketball Association (NBA) regular season.

Houston, a team that made it to the Western Conference Finals last season, is mightily struggling this year and is heading to the game against the Spurs riding a three-game losing streak.

Despite having an explosive all-around guy in James Harden and a former All-Star center in Dwight Howard, the Rockets are not playing the way they are expected to.

In their most recent loss (114–110), they fell last Thursday to the defending champions Golden State Warriors who played without reigning Most Valuabale Player (MVP) point guard Stephen Curry.

Harden and Howard led the charge for Houston, but it was not just enough to seal the victory.

Last year's MVP candidate, Harden, had 30 points five rebounds, five assists, and three steals, while Howard contributed 21 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, two steals, and three rejections.

Despite the slump, the Rockets are still seventh in the Western Conference standings with a 16–18 record.

The Spurs, on the other hand, are the second-best team in the NBA and at home are unbeaten, which makes winning against them a tall task for Houston.

Along with their amazing 19–0 winning streak at home, the Spurs are also on a three-game winning streak.

But the last time they played the Rockets was on Christmas Day and they lost 88–84 on the road, and this makes the game much more interesting.

San Antonio aims to avenge the defeat and improve its standings which is currently at 28–6, just three games behind the Warriors who are leading the West and the league at 30–2.

The matchup of the Rockets and Spurs will take place today, Jan. 2, at 8:30 p.m. EST. To watch via live stream, click here
