The winter finale of ABC's legal drama series "How to Get Away with Murder" ended with a cliffhanger and will return in 2018. Fans are excited to see Laurel's (Karla Souza) baby and what the main characters will do after the death of Simon (Behzad Dabu).

Episode 8 of season 4 ended with Simon flat lining, Asher (Matt McGorry) Annalise (Viola Davis) uttering the word "live," and a baby crying. The next episode of the season will air on Jan. 18 at 10 p.m. on ABC. As seen in the promo teaser for episode 9, the show will pick up after Simon accidentally shoots himself.

Fans of the series are hoping for news about the status of Laurel who went in early labor after being punched by Frank (Charlie Weber) unintentionally. There are also discussions among fans of the impact of the trauma that Annalise experienced after Laurel gave birth prematurely.

The next episode might also show what will happen to Connor (Jack Falahee) who went to Laurel's house. Connor's life is in danger because he is unaware that Dominic (Nicholas Gonzalez) is in the house with him. There are speculations among fans that Frank, who feels guilty for punching Laurel, will be the one to save Connor from Dominic. Dominic is the one who killed Wes (Alfred Enoch) upon the order of Laurel's father.

Elsewhere, the engagement of Connor and Oliver (Conrad Ricamora) is thrown into disarray in the most recent episode.

Episode 8, "Live. Live. Live," generated 3.72 million viewers according to Tv By The Numbers.

The series received impressive score ratings from critics. The show was given an 8.2 out of 10 score by IMDb, and a 92 percent rating from Rotten Tomatoes.

There are still no updates from ABC and the show's producers about the synopsis of the next episode and its title.
