After the breathtaking midseason finale of "How to Get Away with Murder" season 2, fans are now eager to find out what's next for Wes Gibbins (Alfred Enoch) after revealing that he was the one responsible for shooting Annalise Keating (Viola Davis).

During the nerve-wracking midseason finale, viewers found out what really happened before Annalise was seen lying bloody on the floor of her own house at the start of the season. The episode revealed that the shooting was actually Annalise's idea herself, and she staged it to cover up for the crime committed by Asher Millstone (Matt McGorry) when he killed ADA Emily Sinclair (Sarah Burns).

Annalise forced all her Keating Five students to shoot her in the leg to frame Catherine Hapstall (Amy Okuda), and only Wes agreed to do it. However, instead of shooting her in the leg based on her plan, Wes decided to shoot her in the stomach instead.

In a recent interview with Variety, Enoch revealed that as an actor, he found it difficult to distinguish if Wes did it because he was full of anger or was just emotional when Annalise revealed that Rebecca Sutter (Katie Findlay) was already dead, and she was lying about it to Wes all those time.

However, the actor revealed that he was ecstatic when he learned that he was the one to shoot Annalise.

"I thought it would be exciting to play, and that's how it proved," Enoch said. "I'm happy the issue about Rebecca's death was revealed. I found that satisfying from his perspective. It's this huge obstacle — how do they resolve that? The way it falls out, he tried to kill her."

Aside from the revelation about the identity of the real shooter, the episode also showed that Annalise knew Wes when he was younger when she whispered the name "Christophe" after being shot, and she and Eve Rothlow (Famke Janssen) is somehow linked to his mother's death.

Fans should expect to get the answers regarding the link between Annalise and Wes. According to series creator/executive producer Peter Nowalk, the mystery will be unfold very soon.

"We're shooting that right now. It's a big messy soup — and we can't answer all the questions at once. We will parse them out in a way you're not overwhelmed. But even for the characters, it's all too much. I'd want to be shot, too!" Nowalk revealed in a statement for TV Line.

The second half of "How to Get Away with Murder" season 2 will begin on Feb. 11, 2016 on ABC.
