Out of the Keating Five, Laurel (Karla Souza) will be Annalise's (Viola Davis) closest confidante in the back half of "How to Get Away With Murder" season 2.

In the recent spoilers for the upcoming midseason premiere, the lawyer is seen relying on Laurel a lot, especially when she is still confined at the hospital. Annalise was shot in the stomach by Wes (Alfred Enoch) during the fall finale, when she asked all the Keating Five to pull the trigger to impede the police in their investigation of Emily's (Sarah Burns) murder.

Souza told TV Line the changes in dynamics between her character and Annalise in season 2B. According to her, Laurel will be a great help to the lawyer during her most difficult time. While Annalise is recuperating, it will be Laurel being at her beck and call.

"You'll see, in the first episode back - it's like a whole thing, that nobody knows about. Annalise dumps a lot of responsibility on her, and you're going to see how Laurel deals with it," she said.

As they grow closer, Laurel will also learn that Annalise knows more information about her father than she has previously revealed. She will realize that the lawyer has a reason for bringing the Keating Five together. Souza claimed that this awareness will start "a whole other emotional journey" for each of the members.

Meanwhile, the latest sneak peek of the upcoming episode confirms that Annalise survives her life and death situation. It is quite obvious, though, that she is still very much in pain. In the clip, Bonnie (Liza Weil) is escorting Annalise around her room. The latter is telling her she plans to head back to court soon. Bonnie suggests that it will be better if they postpone it a little bit, but the lawyers has already decided.

"I didn't go through all this to not testify," Annalise said.

"How to Get Away With Murder" will return on Thursday, Feb. 11, at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
