The person under the sheet is Wes (Alfred Enoch), and there is no chance of him coming back alive when the series returns next year. Meanwhile, Annalise's (Viola Davis) anonymous informant and Wes' killer will be revealed soon.

In the winter finale of "How to Get Away With Murder" season 3, Wes was revealed to be the person under the sheet and both Enoch and the show's executive producer said that there is no chance of him being alive when the series continues in January next year.

Enoch confirms in an interview with TV Line that his character is really dead. "But Wes looks pretty dead to me. And I felt pretty dead when I was lying on that autopsy table," shared the actor.

Even executive producer Pete Nowalk said that Wes is definitely dead and that the decision to do so brought "pains in my stomach as I realized what we'd promised the audience."

But the mystery of how Wes was killed and who did it still remains unsolved. Nowalk added that the series will start only a few hours from where it left off from the finale when it returns in January next year.

"In the first episode back, we'll see what happened to Wes after he left the police station. We won't get all the answers, but slowly, we'll be pulling back the curtain. We'd been doing flash-forwards, and now we'll be doing flashbacks. And by the end of the season, if not earlier, we'll find out what actually happened to him and who killed him," continued Nowalk.

Meanwhile, Annalise was last seen in jail because of the information from an anonymous tipper that was speculated to be Wes. But since Wes is dead, another mystery to solve is who the anonymous informant is. Nowalk shared that the answer to this question will be very shocking.

"They said they had an anonymous source, but Wes never signed the agreement — so does that mean there's someone else? That's a big question in our first episode back," Nowalk explained.

"How to Get Away With Murder" season 3 returns on January 19, 2017 on ABC.
