'How to Get Away with Murder' season 3 spoilers: Creator Pete Nowalk talks Frank's connection to Wallace's killing

Fans will have to be on the edge of their seats for a while before they learn the identity of Wallace's killer in "How to Get Away with Murder" season 3.

In an interview with Variety, "How to Get Away with Murder" creator Pete Nowalk revealed that fans may or may not have to wait longer to know who put the deadly bullet in Wallace's head in the season 2 finale.

"There are two options for me," Nowalk explained. He is thinking of dropping the bombshell in the first minute of "How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 but he knows that it is "a longer mystery because it's a more complicated story."

At the moment, the culprit's identity is still "up in the air" and Nowalk and the writers will still have to talk about it. However, he hinted that it is entirely plausible that "How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 will pin Frank as Wallace's killer.

Fans have been theorizing that Frank has all the motives to put down Wallace, and it all goes back to his willingness to be of service to Annalise and show her that he is someone she can lean on.

"I will say that makes a lot of sense. If Frank decided I need to make good with Annalise, I'm going to get rid of one of the most evil men in her life and I'm going to show her that I'm on her side," Nowalk said.

In a TV.com interview, Nowalk also said that finding out that Wes's father and the man responsible for the car accident that turned his life around are one and the same might have also led Frank to kill Wallace.

However, Nowalk wants fans to remember that "How to Get Away with Murder" has the tendency to misdirect and that everything is not what it seems.

"Sometimes on the show, it's our goal to do what no one expects and sometimes we just do what makes sense," he said.

"How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 premieres this fall.
