How to get out of the control of anxiety and fall under God's control

It can often feel overwhelming how problems come one after the other and we're left to wonder whether God really cares about us. We may not know it all the time, but Jesus has made a way for us to be free from the worry and anxiety that we face today.

Have you ever felt like things in your life started spinning out of control and you find there's no way you can get all of it in order again? Often we get into situations where we lose control of things, not because God wants to see us suffer. God wants to deliver us out of situations, but sometimes instead of responding in trust, we start responding in anxiety and worry, falling instead into the trap of fear and unbelief.

In Matthew 11:28-29, Jesus said, "Come to me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

The reality is this: we will always have to face situations that are out of our control because we are part of a broken world that has been maligned by the greediness and brokenness of sin. And it's a mystery how it's so difficult for us to trust God in these kinds of situations and instead start trusting the faulty things of this world. We start trusting instead in our own efforts, our connections, our money or our careers instead of trusting God.

But God invites us to seek Him first and watch Him let all things fall into pleasant places for us. In Matthew 6:33-34, Jesus tells us, "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

There will always be something to worry about, always something that will take our eyes off the goal. The goal we chase after is not success or comfort or convenience. Our goal and our prize is Jesus Christ believing that when we have Him we have peace, success and provision. When we make anything else the goal of our life, we lose focus.

God asks that we seek after His kingdom, His Lordship and His will. When we are under God's control, we will begin to see that everything comes under control in Christ because He is able and He is faithful to take you out of your situations.
