Later in 1996 the Bishop of London appointed Rev Gumbel as an Alpha Chaplain. He speaks regularly at national and international Alpha conferences and is the author of several books including Questions of Life, which has sold over 750,000 copies, has been translated into 48 languages and was voted ‘Christian Book of the Year’ in 1994.

This latest Prayer for London event comes a year since the Alpha Course held an Alpha prayer meeting, ‘Prayer for London’ on Clapham Common where more than 4,000 people attended, which was just one of 200 Alpha Invitation prayer meetings that took place across the UK. Since then the Alpha Course has been set up in more than 800 churches in London within the M25 area.

This year’s event will be co-hosted by HTB and Jesus House For All The Nations. It will include lively worship led by the Tribe of Judah Gospel Choir and Jesus House band with Al Gordon and the HTB band.

Admission to the event is free and all are welcome to join the event to pray for London. For more details please click here.
