HTC recently held a media event that has launched the HTC Bolt on the international market. The Bolt and evo are one and the same device, and Sprint will exclusively offer the smartphone in the U.S.

The latest device from the Taiwan-based consumer electronics company offers a 5.5-inch with QHD (2560x1440) resolution on a Super LCD 3 panel. It also offers a pixel density of 534 ppi. This is then protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 5 on top with curved edges. It measures 153.6 x 77.3 x 8.1 mm and weighs 174 grams.

The combination of the all-metal body and the redesigned back offers a more modern feel of the device. It is also comfortable to hold due to its surrounding thin bezels, even with a device with such a screen size.

The HTC evo has its fingerprint scanner on the front that is incorporated on the oval-shaped home button along with the capacitive back and multitasking buttons. An 8 MP shooter is available as well that comes equipped with a super wide angle lens and integrated screen flash, while the back contains a 16 MP camera that features OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and an ultra-fast autofocus.

The company also decided to put a 3,200 mAh battery that comes with the Quick Charge 2.0 support. It claims that in can last up to 23 hours of talk time, either on 3G or 4G network, and a standby time of up to 20 days. It also features an extreme power saving mode.

Under all the metal, the HTC evo is powered by the Snapdragon 810 SoC and paired with 3 GB of RAM. Internal storage is placed at 32 GB and expandable up to 2 TB via a MicroSD card.

GSM Arena added that Sprint has started to offer the HTC evo for $25 a month for 24 months, while retailers such as Best Buy, Costco, and The Radio Shack is offering it at a $600 retail price for the unit alone. It is speculated that other carriers may offer the phone as well, but probably under a different name, again.
