HTC 10 launch: Flagship's details leaked in promo video, spoiling today's reveal

HTC teases the HTC 10.Twitter/HTC

Just hours before the official launch of HTC's new 10 flagship, it seems the event itself is already spoiled for some fans as a supposed promotional video showing the HTC 10 in all its glory is now circulating online.

The early sneak peek is a teaser video uploaded on YouTube and sees the HTC 10's body profile, highlighting its design and form factor. From the promotion video, it can be confirmed that indeed, HTC will make the "10" moniker official.

The leaked video also showcases the chamfered edges of the device, the camera setup on the back (with a slightly prominent bump), and an oval-shaped home button. According to TechCrunch, since the HTC 10 may have borrowed its design from a prior company flagship, the One A9, it is also possible that the HTC 10 may also be branded as an iPhone clone (the One A9 had been previously accused of it).

Meanwhile, aside from the body profile and the general design, not much is seen in the supposed leaked promo video for the HTC 10. This makes the supposed specs sheet of the upcoming flagship unconfirmed, at least until today's launch.

According to rumors, the HTC 10 will use USB Type-C connectivity (which can be seen briefly in the video), a 5.2-inch QHD display, and the new Snapdragon 820 processor paired with at least 4GB of RAM. In addition, the new HTC 10 is said to feature an improved camera setup, with a 12MP UltraPixel camera on the back, and an OIS-enabled selfie camera on the front.

There are also speculations that HTC is planning to launch the new flagship as a lineup, with at least two versions coming out today – the HTC 10 and HTC 10 Lifestyle. The flagship will reportedly be expanded with an HTC 10 Mini by September.
