HTC 2016 Nexus specs rumors: Device to don Android N with 3D Touch?

Google and HTC are taking their cue from Apple with the 3D Touch featureApple

Google is allegedly already working on the next and quite possibly most powerful Nexus yet with HTC. As how it always was with Nexus devices, the latest iteration now being dubbed the HTC 2016 Nexus is said to be the first smartphone to don the Android N.

The software is the successor to the Android Marshmallow, which was launched September last year. There are already talks in the grapevine about Google's latest operating system and the latest report suggests that it will feature a 3D Touch-like technology.

Popularized by Apple, the 3D Touch was the major selling point and upgrade in the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. This technology integrates different responses and functions depending on the pressure of a user's tap or press. The HTC 2016 Nexus will allegedly be the first to boast such feature.

Google's take on 3D Touch, however, won't be exclusive to the alleged Nexus device,, seeing that it will be integrated into the Android N directly. That being said, more devices will get to feature the technology should manufacturers take advantage of it.

Rumor has it that apart from the HTC 2016 Nexus, other smartphone companies such as Xiaomi, Meizu, Oppo and Vivo are working on devices with 3D Touch-like support. Overall, the onset of the Android N will mean more devices with pressure-sensitive displays will be put out.

So far, the 3D Touch integration is the only report on the specs sheet of the HTC 2016 Nexus. Either way, fans can still expect a stellar smartphone as Google and HTC will likely bulk up various aspects of the device apart from the display.

As for the release date, Google usually releases new Nexus devices during September. It usually launches the device along with the latest mobile operating system, which means that Nexus, HTC and Android fans are in for a treat this September.
