According to Trusted Reviews, the Helio X20 chipset was first unveiled earlier this year in May. It comes with a 10 processor cores divided into three clusters, the report added. This will also improve battery efficiency by 30 percent.

The HTC A9 was previously rumored to sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. However, recent reports say HTC is planning to use this processor for another new handset called the HTC O2. According to Trusted Reviews, the colors available for the HTC A9 could be dark grey and tyrant gold.

In terms of the price, International Business Times said the HTC A9 could cost around US$470 to US$626.

Earlier this year, HTC's Chief Executive Officer Cher Wang announced the company's plan to release a new handset sometime this year, in an effort to improve its smartphone products and business. The move came after the launch of the HTC One M9 back in March of this year.
