HTC Aero release date: rumors and specs

Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC Corporation announced earlier plans to release a new smartphone product, dubbed "Hero", sometime before the end of this year. Earlier reports have suggested that the Taiwanese company might plan to release the new smartphone this coming October.

The new move by HTC is aimed at improving its smartphone products and business after the recent failure of the new HTC One M9 smartphone, according to earlier reports, prompting the company's chairwoman, Cher Wang, to apologize to its shareholders and employees.

The new HTC One M9 was unveiled at the same day the South Korean tech giant, Samsung Electronics, had unveiled its successful Samsung Galaxy S6.

Softpedia recently reported that the new HTC One M9 wasn't all that bad, it just couldn't stand up against the might of the new Samsung Galaxy S6 and Apple's popular iPhone 6 handset as well.

Now, new reports have surfaced claiming the new product by HTC is called "HTC Aero". In terms of the specs and features, rumors are suggesting the new phone might sport a Quad HD display screen with a 2560 x 1440 resolution.

International Business Times reported that the HTC Aero might be powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 820 processor along with either 3 GB or 4 GB RAM. Tech Times, on the other hand, has reported that in addition to the powerful processor HTC might be planning to use a larger battery for this new phone.

These specs should be taken with a grain of salt, as the Taiwanese company hasn't confirmed anything yet. What is known as of this time is that the new HTC Aero smartphone might come out by the fourth quarter of this year.

Another company that is also struggling in the market is Canadian smartphone maker Blackberry Ltd. In order to regain back its strength, Blackberry is reportedly planning to release a new smartphone that will run on the Android operating system for the first time in the company's history.
