HTC is reportedly working on the HTC Desire 10 for those who want a quality HTC 10-comparable smartphone without breaking the bank.

The handset is expected to be the economical alternative to the HTC 10 flagship, although necessary tweaks had to be done to reflect the lower price tag.

Just recently, the HTC Desire 10 was leaked via an image featuring its back that popped up in the wild. The metal back on the HTC 10 was traded for a polycarbonate chassis, but the antenna lines are intact.

The camera kept its dual-LED and laser auto focus, but it was rotated 90 degrees.

However, GSM Arena believes that the specs will be higher than the ones on the HTC 10 Lifestyle, a mid-range alternative to the HTC 10.

With regards to the release date of the HTC Desire 10, it is being said that it will be released in late September. No other information has been offered.

Not much is known about the specs of the smartphone, but for reference, its big brother HTC 10 comes with a 5.2-inch quad HD display and Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor.

It is paired with, 4GB of RAM, and memory that it expandable up to a whopping 2TB with a microSD car slot. Its 3,000mAh battery promises long hours of use.

According to Tech Times, the HTC 10 has not been doing well in the market. However, it is believed that HTC plans to change its fate with the Desire 10.

However, reports suggest that the HTC should focus more on the designs of its products. As per the site, users want to see the company take risks in the design and specs department.

Whether or not this will happen with the HTC Desire 10 remains unknown for now. As for the price tag, it is estimated the device will be priced at around $170.
