Although eyes are set on HTC's upcoming premium smartphone iteration, the One M10, it seems that the Taiwan-based company also has plans to expand its lineup. According to speculations, HTC will be adding another iteration to its Desire flagship. However, instead of another smartphone variant, the new product dubbed the Desire T7 will be a tablet.

According to Times News, the rumored product has been spotted on the GFXBench listing website, with most of its specs already detailed. Reportedly, the product will carry the model HTC IV5001-A and will be launched as the HTC Desire T7.

The industry follower listed the general specs of the device. When it launches, the Desire T7 will feature a 6.9-inch display with 1280 x 720 resolution. For its internals, it will carry a quad-core Spreadtrum SC8830 paired with a dual-core ARM Mali-400 MP2 GPU. It will also feature 1 GB of RAM and will have 16 GB of internal storage (it is unclear if the device will have multiple storage options).

The Desire T7 looks to be an entry-level tablet, Phone Arena reported. The industry follower added that with basic internals, HTC seems to be targeting the Desire T7 for emerging markets and might not be launched in established markets such as the United States.

Other specs of the HTC Desire T7 leaked in the benchmarking website include 5-MP camera assemblies on both the front and rear, reportedly capable of recording full-HD videos. In addition, the cameras are listed with other features like autofocus, face detection, LED flash, and HDR photo capture. The listing also revealed other features of the device such as WiFi, NFC, Bluetooth, and GPS. The Desire T7 will also come with Android 5.0 right out of the box.

While there is no release date mentioned, observers are saying that HTC might reveal the Desire T7 at next month's Mobile World Congress.
