Taiwanese smartphone company HTC has been very active for 2015, releasing a myriad number of devices catered to specific regions. Despite facing tough competition from rising tech firms like Xiaomi, Huawei and Lenovo, HTC is being rumored to be working on yet another smartphone, which features a screen size of 5.5 inches, according to GSMDome.

According to the information present on the website, the handset is expected to be the thinnest one to be released by and measures in at just 7.49 mm. The website states that this particular smartphone belongs to the Desire series and features the model name Desire WF5w. The hardware specifications of this device are in line with the company's A50C handset, which raises questions on whether or both smartphones are actually the same. However, there is one critical difference; the front camera sensor.

HTC A50C features a 5 MP front camera sensor, while the maximum image resolution of this sensor happens to be 13 MP, according to the information posted on TENAA. Besides that, the remaining specifications are constant between both smartphones. Desire WF5w has a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of on-board storage, and a 1.5 GHz octa-core processor that is certainly looking to be a part of a MediaTek chipset.

HTC's Desire series are targeted to the middle smartphone market since HTC has had its fair of releasing high-end devices, ranging from One M9, One M9+ and Butterfly J (which is exclusive to Japan only). No source has indicated whether this particular handset is going to be region exclusive or if it will be shipped out to different regions.
