HTC One A9 (Aero) release date: New report claims Oct-Nov launch

A tipster with the Twitter handle @LlabTooFeR recently dished out new details about the purported HTC One A9 (Aero). According to the user, the high-end new offering will be released around October or November and, contrary to what media outlets have been reporting, not this month.

This is because the handset will allegedly be one of the first devices to don Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which is unlikely to be made available this month, at least to devices that aren't under the Nexus brand. Phone Arena points out that Google has an event coming in late September where it is believed to show off the new operating system.

The affair will take place on Sept. 29, which also happens to be the same date HTC will stage an event of their own. In the former, it is expected that Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be seen for the first time (probably on the rumored Nexus 5X and Nexus 6), while the latter is believed to be where the HTC One A9 (Aero) will see the light of day.

If these speculations are accurate, it will be far-fetched that the HTC One A9 (Aero) will be out with Marshmallow by the end of this month, thus strengthening the claim of @LlabTooFeR. But with Google and HTC keeping their cards close to their chest, there's no telling what Sept. 29 really has in store for the tech world.

The smartphone is rumored to utilize a MediaTek Helio X20 processor and a hefty 4 GB RAM. Tech tipster Evan Blass aka @evleaks, however, claims it will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 610 processor and only 2 GB of internal memory. It will also offer 16 GB of storage, which will be expandable.

He added that the HTC One A9 will sport a 5-inch Full HD AMOLED display, 13 MP/ 4 MP camera combo, 2150 mAh battery, a fingerprint scanner and a metal chassis.
