HTC might just be finally ready to announce the launch of their newest smartphone. According to The Gospel Herald, HTC One A9 or HTC Aero will be launched at the upcoming benefit concert it will sponsor called "Tidal X" on October 20 in New York. The benefit concert is said to be held in celebration of the one million user milestone of the "Tidal" music app owned by rapper Jay-Z.

Digital Trends proposes that this announcement is highly possible, especially now that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Global Certification Forum (GCF) already certified HTC One A9 early this month which makes the device ready for release.

Droid Life even shared leaked images of the HTC One A9 in a post which it said came from a tweet by @OnLeaks. It shows a dummy image of the device, which the article points out as an AT&T phone. According to them, this further strengthens the assumptions that the phone is set to be announced soon.

Meanwhile, The Verge gave their assesment of the HTC One A9, saying that it looks a lot like the iPhone 6 based on the images that were leaked online. It said that the device is reminiscent of the iPhone 6 due to its curvy body, lines for the antennas, its camera design and its oblong shaped SIM and microSD slot that can be seen on the side of the device.

The specs of the HTC One A9 is yet to be confirmed, though Digital Trends have mentioned that there have been rumors going around that the device could carry high-end specs.

If this were true, the HTC One A9 could possibly run on an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, have a 5-inch display with a 1080p resolution, and have 2GB of RAM. It is also likely that the device will feature 16GB storage and Qualcomm's new Quick Charge 3.0.
