The HTC One mini and One mini 2 may not be getting Android Lollipop but another maturing handset will. The smartphone in question, the 2013 HTC flagship One M7, is already eligible for the latest Google-developed operating system in India. However, it is still unknown if other countries will be receiving it, too.

For users who still rock the two-generations old HTC offering and for those readying themselves for Lollipop are advised to download the 675 MB update over a Wi-Fi connection. It also pays to clear up some memory and to charge up the One M7 so that the transition will be smooth and trouble-free. After the installation, the dual SIM smartphone should have the software version number 7.117.720.6.

For now, users in India can update the handset to Android Lollipop. Those who live outside the country who are wondering if their HTC One M7 is ready for the sweet jump can always check the settings and the system update of the device to know if the firmware is already available for download.
