In what was supposed to come out as early as February 1, 2015, HTC vice president of product management Mo Versi finally informed through Twitter that users of HTC One from T-Mobile will finally get the Android Lollipop 5.0 update.

The delayed update follows the initial one which Sprint users were able to get last February 6 for the HTC One M8 phones.

Users will see their version bumped up to 4.20.651.10. Aside from that, HTC One M8 owners will also get the removal of the Lumen toolbar which is considered a bloatware.

Sprint's update came earlier than expected after it was earlier announced that the OTA update would begin supposedly on February 13. Aside from the HTC One M8, other devices connected with Sprint such as the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the LG G3 were also getting the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. Sprint's HTC One M7 also started getting its own update.

For users who want to check if the OTA update is already available for download on their phone, just head on to the settings of your phone and check the Systems Update option. Once you find the HTC Software update, you can simply click on it.

Prior to the announcement of the availability, HTC did mention that the update roll out would be delayed. The reason behind the delay was all traced back to Google which had to address several issues before releasing the Lollipop update.

On HTC's end, Versi made it clear that it did not want to gamble on an update that was filled with bugs and problems, potentially giving customers problems if they would apply a buggy update that has been initially released.
