HTC One M9 concept image features new UI and narrow bezels

The HTC One M8 will allegedly be succeeded by a new flagship phone called the HTC Hima.HTC

As the year comes to a close, the tech industry is already looking forward to the smartphones set to be released next year, including HTC's new offering.

A new HTC One M9 concept image emerged online boasting narrower bezels and a new user interface. The render was created by German designer Philipp Pomplum who visualized the new HTC flagship smartphone sporting narrower bezels. This seems to be the trend in handsets. Gone are the days when increasing the overall size of the device was the way to make the screen panel bigger. Now, companies are maximizing every inch of the unused space in the handset to enlarge the screen without making the handset mammoth in size.

Another eye-catching feature in the new HTC One M9 render is the new UI different from HTC Sense 6 laced over the Android operating system packed in current HTC smartphones. This is just the imagination of the designer and many still speculate that the upcoming HTC One M9 will run using the improved HTC Sense 7 UI.

Meanwhile, alleged specs and features of HTC's forthcoming flagship smartphone, codenamed as "Hima," recently leaked online. Upleaks spilled that the new HTC "Hima" will pack a 5-inch Full HD screen display instead of the rumored 5.5-inch quad HD screen. A 1080p screen resolution will be out of date by 2015 as the smartphones with qHD screens already appeared recently.

The smartphone is also rumored to have the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with 2.0 GHz quad-core A57+ 1.5GHz quad-core A53 clusters. However, there are reports claiming that Qualcomm is having problems manufacturing the new chipset, thus delaying its release. If rumors prove to be true, this may also lead to the delayed release of the HTC smartphone.

There are also speculations that the "Hima" smartphone will feature the 20.7-megapixel Sony Exmor RS IMX220 sensor, which also appeared in Sony Xperia Z3 and Motorola Droid Turbo, paired with a 13-megapixel or 4 Ultrapixel front shooter. As for the battery, the handset is speculated to be supported by a 2840 mAh battery.

The HTC One M9 is predicted to hit the market in March at the Mobile World Congress. However, HTC has not commented on the rumors yet.
