Taiwanese phone maker HTC is expected to showcase its latest smartphone offerings on March 1, a day ahead of this year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. However, it is possible that instead of a single smartphone, the company might be unveiling two handsets: the HTC One M9 and the HTC One M9 Plus.

HTC's One M9 is purported to sport a 5-inch screen while the One M9 Plus, as the name suggests, will reportedly feature a 5.2-inch screen size. Other reports say, however, that the latter, also being called the HTC Hima Ultra, would have a phablet-sized form factor with a screen size measuring 5.5 inches.

But according to reliable tipster @upleaks, it is nearly confirmed that the One M9 Plus will feature a 5.2-inch screen that will radiate a resolution of 1440p. The source says that the device will also feature a home button that will provide additional functionality, such as a fingerprint sensor. Furthermore, the handset will also be equipped with a 20.7-megapixel + 2.1-megapixel main camera, 4-megapixel or 13-megapixel front-facing shooter, and BoomSound speakers in front that supports Hi-Fi audio.

It is expected that both smartphones will run Google's Lollipop update coupled with the company's Sense 7.0 User Interface.

While this has not been confirmed, one handset will use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chipset while the other will be fitted with a low-cost MediaTek chipset. Other features that are rumored to be incorporated into both devices are voice over LTE functionality or VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1, 3 GB of RAM coupled with 32 GB of internal memory and a 2840 mAh battery pack.

HTC's financial performance drought was finally ended with the release of its current flagship smartphone, the One M8. With the release of the One M8, the company was able to report a year over year revenue increase, which was the first time the company ever reported since 2011.
