HTC One M9 release date in December; New handset to take on iPhone 6?

There are whispers that HTC One M9 release date will be in December to battle head on with the new iPhone 6.

HTC's designer Hasan Kaymak created a new concept image for the alleged HTC One M9 claiming that we will see the device next month, which indicated that the device will appear in Christmas.

A slew of smartphones were released this quarter and HTC has to come up with a new device if it wants to keep up with the race. The manufacturer received high praises after partnering with Google and releasing the Nexus 9. Thus, it is not impossible that the company gained confidence in releasing a smartphone before the year ends.

It was initially speculated that the HTC One M9 release date will be in March 2015 at the mobile World Congress event in Barcelona. The Taiwanese OEM manufacturer held a simultaneous event in New York and London last March 24, 2014 announcing the HTC One M8. The handset was immediately available after its announcement.

According to the latest rumors, HTC One M9 will compete with the iPhone 6 Plus smartphone and will be one of the thinnest handset in the market. The iPhone 6 Plus sports a 7.1 millimeter profile and the upcoming HTC smartphone will have the same thickness.

HTC smartphones is also known for its sleek metal casing that gives the handset a premium feel. The Taiwanese manufacturer may use the same casing, but may also use other composite material to give HTC One M9 a different look and quality.

The device will sport a larger 5.2 inch screen panel with QHD or 2K pixel resolution with 564 pixel density, which will give users a stunning graphics and vivid pictures. Under the hood, the HTC One M9 will be equipped with Qulacomm's Snapdragon 805 SoC and is coupled with 3GB of RAM. The device will run with the new Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and will have 64-bit architecture.

At the back, the device will have a better camera with higher megapixel and will be supported by better battery capacity. The handset will be available in 64GB or 128GB storage variants.

However, HTC has not commented on the rumors yet.
