Android's new build Marshmallow is rolling out this week and HTC is one of the first devices to taste the new OS.

Although HTC isn't behind the new designs of Nexus phones that carry Android M, the company's phones are definitely on the list of devices set to run the latest Android OS.

According to Phone Arena, HTC One M9 and M8 will be getting the new firmware before 2015 ends.

The list goes on and it includes several other HTC devices as shown in the picture below.

HTC Desire lineup, particularly 826, 820, and 816, has also been spotted on the list, but according to reports, these devices are likely to run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow by the start of 2016.

There was no specific release date for the roll out but as indicated in HTC's Twitter post, M8 and M9 will begin the Marshmallow experience by the end of this year, so it's most likely that the other devices will have the new build by spring next year.

Taking a closer look at the image posted, HTC mentioned that not all carriers within the region will have the Marshmallow build before 2015 ends, which means it's not time to celebrate yet.

Furthermore, it stated that more devices still have to be confirmed.

Meanwhile, HTC also announced on Twitter that its upcoming device will be introduced on the Oct. 20 at 12 p.m. EST via live streaming and it will run on the new Android OS.

It wasn't revealed what phone is coming out but speculations point to an HTC One A9, which has been a subject of earlier leaks.

Android Marshmallow will make its way to Nexus 5,6,7, and 9 starting Oct. 5. It will also be pre-installed on software on Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P by the end of October, Pocket-Lint reported.
