HTC is planning to have a big announcement on April 8, and the tech community is speculating that it will be about the company's flagship devices. However, HTC seems to be branching out of its April plans, as the company already posted on its China website one of its rumored flagship devices, the One E9+.

The images that accompany the post show a phablet with a 5.5-inch quad HD display. According to the specs sheet, the display has a 534 ppi pixel density, making this one of the sharpest HTC phones to date. The sheet also indicates that the E9+ will feature a 1080p resolution.

The smartphone is 7.49 mm thin and is encased in half-metal, half-plastic body. Under the hood, the HTC One E9+ is powered by a 64-bit, octa-core MediaTek chipset with 2 GHz speed. It has a 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. No worries, though, as the phone's storage can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card.

The E9+ also has dual Nano SIM card slots. It has two cameras: the one in front is an UltraPixel cam, and the specs sheet lists the main camera as having 13 megapixels. The battery is 2800 mAh and it has multi-mode LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Because of conflicting early reports and the company's baring of its specs sheet, it was rumoured that the E9+ will come instead on two varieties. The one currently on the website is the low-specs one, and HTC is rumoured to be banking on a higher-end device that boasts 3 GB of RAM and a 20-megapixel main camera with auto focus, LED flash and video recording. The front camera for the higher-end E9+ will be a 4-UltraPixel one.

Other confirmed specs for the HTC One E9+ are front-facing BoomSound stereo speakers, Bluetooth, GPS with AGPS, microUSB connectivity and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
