Rumors are rife that HTC will be unveiling a new variant of their U11 flagship smartphone. It is speculated that the HTC U11 Plus will make a surprise appearance at the company's keynote event this November. Further supporting the rumor is the spotted listing on TENAA, revealing the specs and features of the said device.

As reported by The Verge, the description of the leaked TENAA listing matches the previously released HTC U11. However, it is noted that the new device appears as a larger variant of U11. Specifically, the TENAA listing described the suspected HTC U11 Plus handset with wide 6-inch display. It is also shown to have 18:9 aspect ratio display, made possible by reducing the original bezel size. The slimmer bezels for HTC U11 Plus go with the latest trend of bezel-less displays for an all-screen viewing.

The suspected TENAA listing for HTC U11 Plus also suggests that the upcoming device will keep the same vibrant color of the original U11 smartphone. To note, TENAA is the equivalent of the U.S. FCC in China. The listing did not disclose the hardware specs of the smartphone.

Prior to the TENAA listing, specs rumors suggest that the HTC U11 Plus will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, which is the top-end processor variant from the chipset maker. According to Android Headlines, the Snapdragon 835 would include an octa-core Kryo 280 CPU clocked at 2.45GHz and an Adreno 540 GPU.

Aside from a 6-inch display with slimmer bezels, the HTC U11 Plus is said to highlight a WQHD+ screen resolution with a pixel density of 538ppi, ensuring a top-quality image and video rendering. The device has an IP68 water and dust resistance rating. Compared to the first U11, the HTC U11 Plus will sport a more long-lasting battery with 3,930mAh capacity. The battery also supports Quick Charge 3.0 for faster charging time.

HTC has not yet confirmed the new hardware to be unboxed at the company's next big event on Nov. 2. However, Tech Radar reported that the HTC U11 Plus may skip the event next month. Instead, the company may unveil a different variant of their premium handset, which is the U11 Life.
