HTC is holding a major event on Nov. 2 for the launch of its new U smartphone lineup. While most reports claim that the HTC U11 Plus will be the highlight of the occasion, prolific leaker Evan Blass says the event is actually for another model called the HTC U11 Life.

Blass did not reveal when the HTC U11 Plus would launch. Instead, he only told fans in a tweet to "dial back [their] excitement accordingly." Check out his post below:

The HTC U11 Life is the mid-end model of the U series that previously had the code name "Ocean Life." Its specifications were recently spotted on the benchmarking website GeekBench alongside the HTC U11 Plus, clarifying the features of the phone.

According to the First Post, the U11 Life will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 system-on-chip instead of a Snapdragon 630 chipset, and it will run on Android Nougat 7.1.1 out of the box. Other expected features include a 5.2-inch display, 3 gigabytes (GB) of random access memory (RAM), 2600 milli-Ampere-hours battery, and two 16-megapixel (MP) camera modules — one on the back of the device and another on the front of the device.

As for the high-end HTC U11 Plus, the listing revealed it will sport a 6-inch, bezel-less Quad HD display, suggesting an 18:9 aspect ratio screen. It will also supposedly house a Snapdragon 835 chipset paired with Adreno 540 graphics processor unit (GPU), 4 GB RAM, and 64 GB native storage that is expandable up to 2 terabytes via a micro SD-card slot.

Both the HTC U11 Plus and U11 Life are expected to inherit Edge Sense, the company's signature squeeze feature, which was unveiled when the flagship U11 launched earlier this year, an IP 67 rating for water and dust resistance, and a USonic headphone support.
