Huawei Honor 7i release date Aug. 20 - what to expect

Chinese giant Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. just launched its new Honor 7 smartphone in China last month and is now preparing to release the phone in the United Kingdom on Aug. 27, according to recent reports.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that another new Honor smartphone have just made its way through China certification body TENAA. Dubbed as the "Huawei ATH-AL00," the new device is expected to sport a unique camera sliding feature.

Recently, new teasers for a new smartphone, called the Huawei Honor 7i, have surfaced via Chinese social media site Weibo, according to Phone Arena. One of these teasers came with the words "You Can Change The Vision Together."

The report by Phone Arena adds that the Huawei ATH-AL00 is, in fact, the Huawei Honor 7i. Also, according to the new information, the upcoming Honor 7i is expected to be announced about a week from now, specifically on Aug. 20.

In terms of the specifications, the new phone will reportedly pack Qualcomm's Snapdragon 615 processor, a 2GB RAM, and up to 16GB built-in memory storage.

In addition, there also could be another version available, one that will feature an upgraded 3GB RAM and a larger 32GB internal memory. Other specs, such as display screen size and quality, still remain unclear as of this time.

As for the price, Phone Arena reports that the Huawei Honor 7i could cost somewhere between US$320 and US$403.

Information on yet another mysterious smartphone by Huawei was also leaked a few days ago. This device is now known as the Huawei Mate 7 Mini or the Huawei Mate 7 Plus, and is expected to be unveiled this upcoming IFA 2015 event that will take place in Berlin, Germany on Sept. 2.

Also, Huawei's new successor to the Mate 7 has been rumored to be announced this year as well. However, reports remain unsure in regards to its unveiling.
