The bezel-less 18:9 1080x2160 quad HD screen trend continues with Huawei's latest mid-range phone, the Honor 7X. Although the phone bears the "X" in its name which is reserved for mid-range handsets, the Honor 7X has a lot to offer at a reduced price.

Even though Huawei has not officially announced the price, Chris Merriman of the Inquirer has revealed that the Honor 7X will come well under £300 ($399) for its release in London come Dec. 5. The phone sports a 5.93-inch "full view" display which Merriman claims is very comfortable to hold along with its dimensions and metal unibody.

The Honor X7 is being offered in 32GB and 64GB with 4GB of RAM and is powered by Huawei's very own mid-range Kirin 659 processor. The Kirin 659 is in a BIGlittle formation with four cores at 2.36GHz as well as four cores at 1.7GHz.

The Honor X7 continues what its predecessor has brought to the budget phone line up with a dual rear camera setup. The 16-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors mounted on its back promises to take vivid, high-definition photos with decent low-light capabilities. An 8-megapixel selfie camera is also mounted on top of the phone's screen.

A large 3,340 mAh battery powers the Honor X7 which Huawei claims can perform for up to 12 hours of video playback. Its predecessor also housed the same battery, and performed very well, but the larger screen on the X7 could compromise the battery's stamina. The fingerprint sensor is round the back of the phone.

Like the previous Honor phones, the X7 is a dual sim device, with the second slot capable of reading a microSD card up to 256GB. This means that users can either utilize two sim cards or use the second slot to expand the 32GB or 64GB internal storage.

Some of the biggest downsides for the Honor X7 is the absence of USB Type-C compatibility. There is also no waterproofing, no wireless charging, and no NFC for the mid-range phone. The X7 will come out of the box with Android Nougat, but an Oreo update is expected to be available by 2018.

More details about the Huawei Honor X7 should be revealed in time or by the Dec. 5 London release.
