Huawei is not yet done unveiling its new set of smartphones for 2017. In fact, the Shenzhen-based tech maker just announced the latest entry to its mid-tier collection, the Huawei Honor 7X. This handset is the successor to last year's Honor 6X, which impressed users by featuring a dual-lens camera setup for an affordable price. This time around, the Honor 7X made an impact as the first mid-range smartphone from Huawei with an all-screen, bezel-less display.

As reported by The Verge, Huawei has revealed that the Honor 7X will go even bigger than its predecessor. The handset will sport a 5.93-inch display with "Fullview" feature. It is noticeable that the bezels have become slimmer as ever that they are almost non-existent, similar to the all-screen design of the 2017 flagships such as Samsung Galaxy S8 and iPhone X.

The Huawei Honor 7X also features an entirely metal body, giving the device a more classic look and better protection. Speaking of protection, Huawei said that the Honor 7X has improved corners that will prevent the users from dropping the phone. An extra casing will no longer be needed as the smartphone is made handy as it is.

PC Mag reported that the Huawei Honor 7X has a few impressive tricks to beat the other mid-tier gadgets. For one, the Honor 7X has a Split-screen mode that can be prompted by just pushing a button. This mode will allow the user to view two different but compatibles apps all at once. The device also features a special graphics setting that will sharpen images in daylight for the sake of readability. At night, the screen's tint can be adjusted to a warmer color to reduce the strain on the eyes.

The Huawei Honor 7X keeps the fingerprint reader from the Honor 6X, although it is now located at the rear panel's bottom portion. Just like its predecessor, the Honor 7X has a dual-lens camera, which is a combination of 16MP and 2MP rear sensors. This combo works for crystal-clear photos that retain the quality even in low-light conditions. The dual camera also supports a Portrait mode. As for the front-facing camera, the Honor 7X features 8MP selfie snapper with adjustable depth of field.

Other specs of Huawei Honor 7X include Kirin 659 chipset with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. The handset is packed with a 3,340mAh battery. It is not expected to run the latest Android 8.0 Oreo version out of the box, but the OS update will arrive sometime in early 2018.

The public will have the first look at Huawei Honor 7X at a special event on Dec. 5.
